Lose Weight Fast
In these modern times of fast, easily available, ready-made meals packed with sugar and calories, it’s no wonder that obesity is such a rampant problem. To make matters worse, people’s lifestyles are becoming increasingly sedentary. As a result, millions of people struggle every day with their weight, often times turning to questionable fad diets and gimmicky supplements as they desperately try to shed pounds. All that extra weight hurts not only physical health, but emotional health, too. Unfortunately, there’s no silver bullet that will just make it all fall off overnight. However, there are some easy adaptations that anyone can make to their lifestyle that will help them to lose weight fast.
Drink More Water
Statistics suggest that most people don’t drink enough water. Not only is staying hydrated important for overall health, but it can help you lose weight fast. Water is known to increase metabolism, causing you to burn calories faster while preventing the body from storing more fat. Water can also help you eat less. Did you know that it is common to confuse thirst for hunger? Try drinking a big glass of water about 30 minutes before a meal, and you might find that you need to eat less food.
Eat Spicy Foods
A lot of people have a liking of spicy foods, and such seasonings are readily available. You can use this to your weight loss advantage, because spicy things like cayenne pepper and chile peppers are thermogenic. This means that they raise your core body temperature, causing your metabolism to increase. Some studies have shown that it can temporarily boost your metabolism by as much as 8 percent, helping you to lose weight fast. It’s easy to add a spicy kick to your meals. Sprinkle some red pepper flakes or cayenne powder on a salad, in some soup, or over some sauteed meat and veggies. Fresh or canned hot green chiles make wonderful additions to an omelet, nachos or pizza.
Exercise
Getting more exercise doesn’t have to be difficult. Even the little things matter, and they add up. If your work place has stairs, take those instead of the elevator. When you have free time, like after dinner, consider going for a walk. Some office buildings and colleges have fitness rooms available to staff and students, so try to take advantage of these. There are also ways disguise exercise with fun. Swimming is an activity many people enjoy, as is dancing and playing with the dog.
Weight Training
Believe it or not, lifting weights isn’t just for body builders! It’s quite possibly one of the best exercises you can do to lose weight fast, and it makes you look good and feel great. Weight training not only increases lean muscle mass, which is important for fat loss, but it boosts several important hormones that play a huge role in metabolism and fat burning. Certain weight bearing exercises like squats tend to give the best results. Even if you’re unable to make it to a gym, weigh training is something that anyone can do at home. Simple, easily available items like jugs of water, sandbags and bags of potatoes all make fantastic weights. Even using your own body weight to do exercises like pushups, pullups and squatting up and down rapidly will get you results.
Avoid Stress
In this context, stress is not only caused by the mental and emotional, but also by excessive physical strain. When most people think of stress, they thing of unrealistic deadlines at work, financial trouble, bills and hectic schedules. However, there are other causes that many people may not think of. Things like a lack of sleep, poor diet, excessive physical labour and excessive alcohol consumption can also cause the body to release cortisol, the stress hormone, which compels your body to store fat.
